Olivia Kibodeaux Delome, 96, of Orangefield, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Services to remember her life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Jim Hardwick, pastor of the First Christian Church in Orangefield. Interment will follow services in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born on March 18, 1914 in Estherwood, La. to her parents, Napoleon Kibodeaux and Gladys (Fontenot) Kibodeaux, she spent her childhood helping her parents and family work on the farm. She was a resident of Orange since 1944 and she had worked as a packer for the Dell Dixie Pickle Factory in West Orange. Mrs. Delome enjoyed playing bingo, will be remembered for her cooking and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Greeting her at heaven’s gate and preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Julius Delome; her daughter, Leona Mae Bailey; her sons, Allen Lee Delome, Joseph C. Delome, Louis Russell Delome and August Crader Jr.; her grandson, Randall Delome and numerous brothers and sisters. Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughter, Audrey Ann Bertrand of Orangefield; her sons, Leon Delome and wife, Marlene, C. J. Delome and wife, Tracy, James Delome and Herbert C. Delome and wife, Rita all of Orangefield. Mrs. Delome is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as numerous extended family.
Serving as pallbearers for the service are Bo Henley, Alex Orta, Allan Ward, Kenneth Chesser, Dwight Flory and Leroy White.
