Chief Deputy Rodney Harrison accepts position with Little Elm PD

Rodney Harrison, Chief Deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, has accepted a position with the Little Elm, Texas Police Department. Harrison’s departure will become effective Friday. He is expected to begin with the Little Elm Police Dept. June 15.

Chief Harrison has been with the Sheriff’s Dept. since Jan. 2009, when Sheriff Merritt was elected to office. Harrison was a sergeant with the Port Arthur Police Dept. before his position with OSO.

Sheriff Merritt said “Chief Harrison is a great leader and has done an outstanding job for his department; he will be truly missed.”

"I have had the opportunity to work closely with Chief Harrison for the past 20 years; he is a true friend and will be greatly missed.” said Sgt. Chad Hogan.

Sheriff Merritt and the Employees of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office wish him well with his new position.

A replacement has not been named for Chief Harrison.
