Roy Leo Munnerlyn, 72, of Orange passed away Monday, August 1, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at First Baptist Church of Groves in the Heritage Hall, with the Rev. Charles Miller officiating.
Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory and Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Carlisle, Arkansas on Aug. 2, 1939, Roy was the son of Clarence and Violet (Weaver) Munnerlyn. He served in the U.S. Army as a marksman/sharpshooter. Roy was a member of the V.F.W., the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virty Fay Munnerlyn; brothers, Clarence Raymond Munnerlyn and Johnny Wayne Munnerlyn; and sister, Francis Gail Munnerlyn.
Roy is survived by his son, Roy Allen Munnerlyn and wife, Mona of Port Neches; daughter, Tonya Munnerlyn-Bledsoe of Houston; and son, Roy Edward Munnerlyn of Shawnee, Ok.
He is also survived by ten siblings, Helen Fisher of Crossett, Ar, Mary Ellen Wilson of McGehee, Ar, Fay Bock of Tillar, Ar., May Seaman of Tillar, Ar., Troy Munnerlyn of Buna, Freddy Munnerlyn of Missoula, Mt., Barbara Smith of Caddo, Ok., James Clyde Munnerlyn of Tyro, Ar., Dianne Horton of Caddo, Ok., and Terry Munnerlyn of Missoula, Mt.
