Firefighters respond to early morning blaze

The City of Orange Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on Mickler Dr. Friday morning, at 6:45. Initial reports included that a person was trapped inside the burning structure.

First to arrive on the scene were Orange Police officers, who updated responders that the house was fully engulfed and the trapped person had escaped. Upon arrival, fire units confirmed that everyone was out of the structure.

The fire was extinguished in 20 minutes, and the individual who was inside the house initially, was treated for smoke inhalation by Acadian Ambulance. The patient did not want to go to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal, but the cause is currently considered unintentional.
