Sabine Federal Credit Union’s President, Linda Cupit, has decided to retire after 31 years of dedicated service to the Credit Union. A retirement reception will be held for Linda at the Strick Drive location on Friday, Jan. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Linda began her Credit Union career as a teller in September of 1980. She is a 1989 graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School. Linda’s love of numbers and her expertise in that area lead her to become Vice President of Accounting. She held this position until the Credit Union opened the office on Strickland Drive in 1995. At that time, Linda was promoted to Branch Manager.
In 2000 Linda was once again promoted, this time to Chief Financial Officer. When Lyndell H. Bray announced his retirement as President/CEO, Linda Cupit was an obvious choice and a natural fit for the position. She has dedicated over thirty years of service to Sabine Federal Credit Union. Her knowledge and professionalism is admired by the staff and appreciated by the Board of Directors.
When asked about her retirement and thoughts on working at the Credit Union, Linda had this to say…. “I am extremely proud of all that has been accomplished over the years. This can only be attributed to the teamwork of our wonderful staff and credit union volunteers who have been committed to provide unmatched value and service to the membership. I want to express my gratitude and praise for the support everyone has provided throughout my career in the credit union industry. Working with such dedicated and hard-working people has been a joy and honor I will value the rest of my life.”
