WOS powerlifter sets state record

West Orange – Stark High School powerlifters Ryan Allen and Britton Lindsey both earned silver medals at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association State Powerlifting Championships last weekend.

Allen set the record in the Super Heavyweight category of the deadllift at the State Meet. He lifted 710 lbs. in the event. In other lifts, he completed the squat with 700 lbs., and the bench press with a lift of 430 lbs. Overall, he completed the state competition in second place in Super Heavy Weight, with lifts totaling 1840 lbs.

Mustang Britton Lindsey also place second at the State Meet. He competed in the 165 lb. class. Lindsey lifted 540 lbs. in the squat, 285 lbs. in the bench press, and 580 lbs. in the dead lift. His lifts in the State competition totaled 1405 lbs, earning second place in the 165 lb. class. Additionally, Lindsey was recognized for the best dead lift in 165 lb. and under categories.
