Gingerbread Charity Competition Open to Public

The Golden Triangle Chapter of the Texas Chefs Association and the Lamar University Hospitality Program will host the 7th Annual Gingerbread Competition with proceeds benefiting Buckner Children and Family Services.

The community-wide gingerbread house competition is now accepting applications through Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Entries will be judged Thursday, Nov. 29 and will remain on display through Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Beaumont Civic Center, located at 701 Main St. where the community is invited to view the houses and bid on them through silent auction.

This year’s Gingerbread Competition is sponsored by Buckner Auxiliary, Market Basket, Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, Mr. and Mrs. EG Cordts and Ted and Sandra Cutaia. All prize money is sponsored by the Golden Triangle Chapter of the Texas Chefs Association.

Competition details and an application is available at http://www.bucknerevents.com. Applications can also be picked up at Buckner Children’s Village, located at 9055 Manion Drive.
