Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office have positively identified the victim of a murder after her body was found Friday along a canal roadway off of Tram Road in rural Jefferson County.
The victim, of an apparent homicide is Kimberly Grant, 51, of Crosby, Texas. They are still searching for her vehicle which was a gold Cadillac SUV SRX with a Texas license plate number BN2-T228.
The roadway where her body was found is an entry point to a hunting lease. The owner became suspicious when he noticed the gate was open.
The Houston police department was contacted to help by providing a sketch of the woman in hopes someone would recognize her.
The scene was processed by the Jefferson County Crime Lab.
An autopsy was completed Monday morning and they are awaiting the resutls.
She is described as a black female with a medium complexion, approximately 40-50 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 300 pounds. She also has short, black hair with some graying. She has protruding teeth with a significant gap and does not have tattoos. In addition, she was found with burgundy or maroon painted toes and fingers. On her ring fingers on each hand she wore a ring.
“This individual is someone’s daughter, mother, sister or neighbor, “ said Rod Carroll, of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information about Grant or the location of her vehicle should contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 409-835-8734 or Beaumont’s Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading the arrest of the person or persons responsible. All tips remain anonymous.
