Daniel Austin Aytes

Daniel Austin Aytes, 57, of Orange, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at his residence.

Born on May 16, 1956 in Orange, Texas to his parents, the late, James Clifford Aytes and the late, Estelle Marie (Carpenter) Aytes, he was a lifelong resident of Orange and he worked in the construction industry as a pipefitter and boilermaker. Daniel was of the Baptist faith, he enjoyed raising chickens, raising dogs, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents. Those who will most cherish his memory are his wife, Cheryl Aytes of DeRidder, Louisiana; his daughter, Genie Aytes Williams and husband, Clayton of Grant, Louisiana; his son, Daniel Ezra Aytes of Mittie, Louisiana; his brother, James David Aytes and wife, Susan of Orange; his grandchildren, Austin Haines, Colbie Haines, Karmen Aytes, Preston Aytes, Chloe Aytes and Jacob Aytes. Daniel is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.

Services by which to remember his life will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 27, 2013 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with Reverend Ben Priest, pastor of the River of God Church in Kingwood, Texas, officiating. Rite of Committal and Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Hamilton Cemetery in Grant, Louisiana.

A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection and sharing will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Honoring Daniel as pallbearers will be Jim Brackin, Randy Lane, Keith McKee, Hammer Brown, Austin Haines and Laron Baggett.
