The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce recognized Wanda Shugart as their employee of the month at their monthly networking coffee held at theBCISD Administration Building, located at 1031 West Roundbunch Road in Bridge City.
Wanda was recognized for her faithful volunteering within the Bridge City Schools.
She volunteers every Wednesday at BCHS making copies for teachers, laminating posters and any other job passed to her, working a full eight hour day.
She was instrumental in getting teachers set up for the school year, running copies and performing other duties while teachers attended day long meetings.
When there is an athletic banquet she bakes up to 10 cakes for all to enjoy.
Principal Briggs shared that she is a blessing to the school and he ,along with several others, acknowledged how much they appreciate all that Wanda does and has done for many years.
Everyone knows and loves “Granny.”
Wanda received a plague sponsored by David Self Ford along with gift certificates donated from the following local chamber members: Peggy’s on the Bayou, Total Impressions Salon, Dupuis Tire and Service Center, Geaux Mail, The Record Newspaper, Dairy Queen, Complete Staffing, Michele Michelle Day Spa, Tiger Rock Martial Arts and David Self Ford.
