Frances Binagia Choate

Frances Binagia Choate, 98, of Vinton, passed away on June 1, at Resthaven Nursing Home in Lake Charles.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 5, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Tom Phelan. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Orange.

Frances was born in Port Arthur, on July 28, 1915. Frances loved to sew, make dolls, creating ceramic creations and all things crafty. Although she loved these things dearly, she loved all her grandchildren most of all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Choate; daughter, Linda Choate Hoffpauir, and eight siblings.

She is survived by her son, Donald Choate of Clute; daughter, Frances Diann Foreman and husband, Louis Jr. of Vinton; eight grandchildren, Troy Hoffpauir, Paige Bellett, Ray Garrett, Jay Garrett, Thia Buehring, Kim Scroggs, Karen Choate Chaney, and Robert Louis Foreman; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Ellen Mott of Port Arthur.

The family would like to especially thank Carolyn Choate for all her love and support through the years.
