Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
Monday evening, Orange police were dispatched to the Best Texan Inn in the 2700 block of IH-10 in reference to suspicious activity. Upon arrival, officers met with hotel management. The manager told officers that he wanted the people in one of the rooms to leave.
Officers went to the room and knocked on the door. When there was no answer, a key card was used to gain entry to the room. Upon entering the room, police observed what looked to be tobacco, or a form of synthetic marijuana, as well as smoke throughout the room.
There were six males in the room, one being a juvenile. All the males were made to leave the room, and sit in the hallway floor while officers checked for warrants.
One of the men, Hunter Chappell, had a warrant out of Hardin County for burglary of a habitation. Chappell was taken into custody, and transported to the Orange County Jail.
The juvenile was released to his mother.
