Eric (EJ) Duhon passed away Aug. 25.
Eric was born in Kaplan, La, July 18, 1933, and resided in Orange since 1942. He graduated from Stark High School and served in the U. S. Marine Corp during the Korean War, from 1951 to 1953. He retired from Allied Chemical and Dupont Sabine River Works. He was a long time member of First Christian Church in Orange.
EJ was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Marie Duhon; his wife, Shirley A. Duhon; and his sister, Jeanette Lincecum.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Joan Gallas; daughter, Rebecca Wolfe and husband, Steve; granddaughters, Dr. Erica Hightower and husband, Steven; Lindsay Hallman and husband, Scotty; great-grandchildren, Carter Hightower, Cade Hightower, Jenna Hallman, and Paisley Hallman; and his brother, Alvin Duhon.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, Aug. 29, at First Christian Church, 611 N. 9th St. in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Damon Bickham and Dr. Andy Pate. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm, Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Hallman, Steven Hightower, Jeffery Duhon, Doug Manning, Ed Smith, Pleas Evans, and Scott Horton. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Alford, Alvin Duhon, and Mike Smith.
