The City of West Orange is happy to report that plans are well underway for the 2014 “Holiday in the Park” festival, which will be held this year on Saturday, November 1st, in
the park next door to City Hall, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Booth spaces are going fast, with only seven non-electrical, and five electrical booths remaining at the present time. For anyone interested in obtaining a space, rules and regulations are available on the city’s website, http://www.cityofwestorange.com. You may also stop by City Hall to pick from the remaining spaces. Remember, payment and a completed registration form reserves your space.
Visitors to the festival this year will indeed be in for a treat. Their taste buds will be tempted by a vast number of tasty items, including: fudge; turkey legs; funnel cakes; pulled pork; links; boudain; porkabobs; fried Oreos; fried cinnamon rolls; nachos; hot dogs; fudge pudding; shrimp pistolettes; meat pies; chili w/rice; Frito pies; chipped beef sandwiches; Cuban sandwiches, black beans w/rice; empanadas, Cuban wraps; catfish sandwiches; fajitas; sausage & onion wraps; cakes; pies and much more.
And don’t forget that “Holiday in the Park” is a great place to begin your holiday shopping, too.
Many vendors will be displaying wonderful gift items that would put smiles on everyone’s faces this season.
A lot of talent will also be on display as many of the vendors will be selling handmade items as well.
Just to name a few of the items that will be available that day - wooden Christmas yard art; electric fragrance warmers and scents; birdhouses; squirrel feeders; crosses; wooden craft items; toys; jewelry; travel accessories; paintings; Christmas ornaments; blankets; hair accessories; clothing; embroidered and appliquéd baby items; books; wreaths; ceramic coasters; wind chimes; organizational home items and cosmetics.
There will also be a supervised booth at which children can create a craft to bring home with them (free of charge) sponsored by the City. There are also vendor booths geared toward children as well.
Entertainment will include Shon Branham, who will be performing throughout the day, and beginning at 2:00 p.m. the Cajun band, Dallas Street Ramblers w/Alex Caswell will
perform.
So mark your calendars, bring your lawn chairs and plan on spending the day in the City of West Orange at “Holiday in the Park.” You’ll be glad you did.
