John Sanchez

John Henry Sanchez, 79, of Orange, passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Born Nov. 3, 1934 in Orange, to Juan Rafiel Sanchez and Nicolasa (Soto) Sanchez, he was a lifelong resident of Orange, and worked as a laborer for the Equitable Bag Company in Orange. He served his country as a Military Policeman in the United States Army during the Korean Era. Henry was of the Catholic faith, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Orange. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, playing dominos, going for walks and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Sanchez; brothers, Samuel Sanchez, Jesse Sanchez, John Phillip Sanchez, Jose Sanchez and Ben Sanchez; sisters, Pearl Colburn and Dolores Monceaux.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Karen Martinez and husband, Cirilo of Orange, and Juan Sanchez and wife, Teresa of Carencro, La; sisters, Janie Castillo of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Nellie Pachuca of Orange; brother, Thomas Sanchez and wife, Chone of San Diego, Ca; six grandchildren, John Erik Sanchez, Jeffrey Sanchez, Chris Sanchez, Brianna Sanchez, Brittney Martinez and Marty Martinez; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services to remember and honor his life will be at 7:00 P.M. Monday, Nov. 3, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Deacon Hector Maldonado will officiate. A rosary will be recited at at the funeral home during the service.

A gathering of Henry's family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. just prior to the service.

Cremation was held prior to the service and the family will be placing the remains for committal at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston at a later date. Cremation and services are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.
