Orange County Health/Restaurant Inspections

Orange County Health Inspector James Scales made the following inspections on area businesses from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30:

Star Stop #6, 1101 Green Ave., Orange - Store name and address are needed on all bags of ice at stroll; pulled several expired (2013) food from shelves; chemicals stored above pet foods; area under drink station needs to be cleaned of old syrup/trash and mold and slime found inside ice machine need to be cleaned and need to replace damaged ceiling tiles. Score - 86

Sonic Drive-In, 2805 MacArthur Dr., Orange - Floors/walls need to be cleaned of old foods; slime was found in the ice machine and area around fryer/fry station needs to be cleaned of old grease. Score - 97

Honey Stop #2, 1012 W. Park, Orange - Store name and address are needed on all bags of ice sold; pulled several expired (2013) foods from shelves; gasket needs to be repaired on cooler door; towels needed inside restroom and storage shelves and cabinets need to be cleaned. Score - 83

Get N Go #2, 2419 16th St., Orange - Dates needed on deli sandwiches in cooler. Score - 96

Senor Toro Mexican Restaurant, 2308 Lutcher Dr., Orange - No hot water was found inside the restaurant; a repairman was called out and a new water heater is being installed. No score (field investigation).

La Pasadita Mexican Food, 18172 Hwy. 62, Orange - Pre-opening inspection. Okay to open. No score.

Subway #62184, 1545 N. Main St., Vidor - Pre-opening inspection. Okay to open. No score.

El Ranchero, 2413 16th St., Orange - Pre-opening inspection. Okay to open. No score.

Super Store #3, 2745 Evangeline, Vidor - No hot water found in store; towels needed inside restroom; roach feces found inside storage cabinets; ice scoop downed laying on top of ice machine. Score - 87

Novrozsky's Restaurant, 1035 n. Main St., Vidor - cell phone found on prep table; need to date all foods; molded lemons found in walk-in cooler; several dead/live roaches found; flies, gnats found; Hot Shot Inspect spray found on prep tables next to food; floor drain clogged; floor drain clogged; floors, walls and storage equipment needs to be cleaned of old foods; blood from raw beef found on floor in walk-in cooler and area around fryers/grill needs to be cleaned of old grease. Score - 76

Spindletop Restaurant, 1480 W. Freeway Blvd., Vidor - Found eggs at unsafe temperatures; evidence of smoking in kitchen; need to date/label foods; raw chicken stored next to cut potatoes in walk-in cooler; several dead roaches found; restaurant having problems with ice machine flooding back room; entire restaurant needs to be cleaned; recommend professional cleaning service to clean and sanitize all food contact surfaces and grease buildup around fryers and vents; blood from raw beef found on floor in walk in freezer. Score - 74

On Your Way Valero, 3030 Hwy. 12, Vidor - Pulled several expired foods from shelves; no certified food manager on duty; air returns need to be cleaned of old dust and mold was found on drink dispensers. Score - 90

James Hope Academic Center, 6928 N. Hwy. 87, Orange - No violations found. Score - 100
