Amid much speculation it is now official. Bridge City ISD has announced the hiring of Dwayne DuBois as head football coach for the Bridge City Cardinals.

DuBois, a 1986 graduate of Bridge City High School and a former assistant coach there, is currently the head football coach at Hardin-Jefferson High School.

DuBois was selected among a list of 52 applicants. He will replace former Bridge City head football coach Cris Stump.

DuBois is credited with turning around the Hardin-Jefferson football program. In his two seasons as head football coach the Hawks posted 20-7 record. Last season HJ went 12-2, the best season in school history. Prior to his stint at HJ, DuBois was offensive coordinator at Vidor for eight seasons under Jeff Matthews. He was an assistant coach at Bridge City in the late 1990's under then athletic director Les Johnson.
