Senior Rex Dausin and sophomore Robert Mitchell will not return for the 2015 season announced Lamar head coach Ray Woodward Thursday afternoon. Dausin had one year of eligibility remaining, while Mitchell had three years.
Both players saw action in limited roles during the 2014 season. Dausin played in four games, completing 3-of-8 passes for 33 yards, with two interceptions. He also carried the ball seven times for 90 yards, including a touchdown. Mitchell played in three games completing 2-of-3 passes for 30 yards and a pick. He recorded 18 rushes for 168 yards (9.3 ypc) and three scores.
With the departure of Dausin and Mitchell, and all-time leading passer Caleb Berry out of eligibility, Lamar enters spring camp with two transfers at the position – Joe Minden (Stephen F. Austin, 6-2, 205) and Carson Earp (Navarro College, 6-4, 210).
