Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School’s Powerlifting team, Bear Iron, took top scores at the Silsbee meet on Thursday, Feb. 5. The Boys team finished in First Place, with 50 points and the Girls team won Second with 32 points. The lifters compete in three events, squat, bench press and dead-lift to accumulate a total for the meet.
Boys placing in their individual weight classes were: Hunter Angelo, First with a total lifted of 815; Hunter Fontenot, First with 1045; Carter Beck, First with 1190; Dustin Forester, Second with 675; Victor Davilla, Second with 840; Alex Reed, Second with 955; Blake LeBlanc, Second with 1065 and Lucas Russell,Second with 815.
Girls individual results include Nikki Mathis,First with 815; Sh’Kayla Rogers, First with 575; Taylor Reichart, Second with 460; Carly Norris, Second with 555; Breana Dyson, Second with 530 and Michaela Dearing, Third with 600.
David Kendrick and Kim Levens are powerlifting coaches for LCM.
