Hearts for the Arts slated for Valentine's Day

This year marks an exciting change for Hearts for the Arts as the Southeast Texas Arts Council partners with the Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts to bring a night of art entertainment and appreciation. The two organizations have long been allies in the effort to bring professional theater not only to the city of Orange, but also to the county at large, Hardin, Jefferson and beyond. Representing a perfect fit for both parties, perhaps the most surprising thing is that this has not happened sooner.

Hearts for the Arts, now in its eighth year, will once again recognize those in our community who have tirelessly and generously promoted the arts and humanities. Receiving SETAC Awards this year from Orange will be:

This year the evening's entertainment will be left in the capable hands of Pascal Rioult and his dance company, RIOULT Dance NY. Pascal Rioult is a former principal Martha Graham dancer, for whom Graham created the central role (Death Figure) in her ballet Eye of the Goddess. Since starting his own company, RIOULT Dance NY in 1994, Rioult has dedicated his energies to developing his own choreographic style and nurturing a robust ensemble of dancers.
