Hometown News For Orange County, Texas

NWS says more rain in forecast

The National Weather Service is expecting another foggy night, followed by more rain, mainly Tuesday night into Wednesday, as a cold front approaches the region. Temperatures will be quite a bit above normal, with lows in the 50s to lower 60s, and highs in the 70s.

At this point the NWS is not expecting any widespread severe storms on Wednesday, but an isolated strong storm will be possible.

Thursday morning will start out wet and cold. Temperatures will be close to freezing in east Texas and central Louisiana, so any lingering rain has the potential to become freezing rain in this region. This event is marginal looking right now, but we will be revisiting the scenario throughout the week.

Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing along the I-10 corridor from southeast Texas to southwest and south central Louisiana, so no freezing rain is currently forecast for Thursday morning in this region.
