LCM Prose/Poetry team participate in academic tournament

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School UIL Prose/Poetry team ventured to Brenham over the weekend to take part in the large Central Texas Academic Tournament. All six of the readers advanced through difficult Preliminary and Semi-Final rounds to reach the Finals, the only school to do so.

Placing in Poetry Finals are Mariah Blair, 4th Place, Rebecca Sanford, 3rd Place, and Alex Borel, 1st Place. Placing in Prose Finals are Triston Stringer, 1st Place, Connor Alexander, 2nd Place, and Dalton Teeler, 6th Place.

The LCM team finished their practice season with 23 tournament finalists and were able to capture 1st Place in both Prose and Poetry at every meet they attended this year. The students will compete again next month at the District 24-4A Academic Meet.
