Bret Allen Gentzler, 43, of Orange passed away Sunday, March 8.
Bret was born on March 16, 1971 in York, Pennsylvania to parents Cynthia Ann Sharp and George William Gentzler II. He had lived most of his life in the Orange area and was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church. Bret was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Masters Degree in Wildlife Range Management and Forestry. He had worked as a truck driver with Dupré Logistics for the last 3 years. Bret enjoyed the outdoors, going hunting, camping or reading a good book. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. GW and Willie Sharp and paternal grandparents, George and Alma Gentzler.
Bret is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kay (Cherry) Gentzler; mother, Cynthia A Gentzler-O'Neal and husband, Jeff and father, George Gentzler II and wife, Patsy, all of Orange; sister, Jan Marie Landis and husband, Jack of York; brothers, Chad L. Gentzler and wife, Lori and Devin L. Gentzler and wife, Crystal, all of Mauriceville; step sister, Kelly Godwin and husband, Scott of Bridge City and step brother, Jeff Dugas of Orange. He also is survived by his nieces, Alayna Gentzler, Karen Duggar; nephew, Corbin Gentzler and great niece, Aurora Duggar.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at Dorman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 11, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.
Honoring Bret as pallbearers will be Chad Gentzler, Devin Gentzler, Mark Taylor, James Sharp, Raymond Menard and Wes Sharp.
