Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
Claydra Rhodes and Grant Anderson won the West Orange – Stark High School finals of the 111th Miriam Lutcher Stark Contest in Reading and Declamation.
Rhodes won the Interpretive Readings competition; while, Anderson won the Declamations competition. Each won a $2000 scholarship and will advance to the Orange County Finals of the competition to be held in April at the Lutcher Theater.
Also placing in the WO-S Finals were Jackson Dallas and Jared Dupree. Each placed second in Interpretive Reading and Declamation, respectively, and won a $1500 scholarship.
Other WO-S finalists were Equillion Tyler, Aidan Anderson, ReShea Riggs, Paul Ivory, Horaciana Yelling, and Erick Cortez.
WO-S Choir students provided musical entertainment at the event. Angela Greer is the WO-S Choir Director. Evelynn Elliott is the WO-S High School Reading Contest Director.
