Eva Breaux Peveto, 86, of Orange, passed from this life on Monday, March 16, at her residence.
Born Oct. 19, 1928 in Gueydan, Louisiana to Espera Breaux and Emedia (Abshire) Breaux, she was a longtime resident of the Orange area. She worked as a food service worker for the West Orange Cove ISD. She retired in April of 2004 but continued working on a substitute basis for 10 years for a total of 44 years of service. In additional to her regular work, Mrs. Peveto worked as a store clerk at the Star Trac and Super Food Mart Convenience Store from 1975 until it closed in December of 2014. Mrs. Peveto will be remembered for her kind heartedness and her love for her family.
Mrs. Peveto is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nathanial Hawthorne “ Bernie “ Peveto; brother, Buford Breaux; sisters, Cenetia “ Aunt Red “ Dronette, Hazel O’Quinn and Beatrix Thibodeaux and her daughter, Diane Peveto.
Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughters, Jo Ann Peveto of Orange, Cheryl Ann Dunn and Danny Hlavaty of Houston and Nancy Ann Fontenot and Charles of Buna; sons, Bernie Peveto and wife, Susan and Ernie Peveto and Wanda all of Orange; sisters, Idelle Seay and Grace Roberts; grandchildren, Samantha Lawrence, Joshua Peveto, Jeremy Peveto, Victoria “ Tori “ Hlavaty, Eva Gale Fontenot and Kaylee Peveto; great grandchildren, Dair Lawrence, Brenden Lawrence, Makayla Peveto, Natalie Peveto, Ryleigh Peveto and Kyndahl Peveto. Mrs. Peveto is also survived by numerous members of her extended family.
Services to remember and honor her life will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 21, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, with the Rev. Barry Bradley, officiating. Rite of committal and interment will follow services in the Bland Cemetery in Orange.
A gathering of Mrs. Peveto’s family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Honoring Mrs. Peveto as pallbearers are Joshua Peveto, Jeremy Peveto, Jay Lawrence, Dair Lawrence, Phillip Fuller and Grady Gibbons. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Hooper, Bernie Peveto and Ernie Peveto.
