Bernice Mitchell, 90, of Orange, passed away April 11, at her home in Orange.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Alvin Gilbeaux of Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Belleville, W.V., on April 7, 1925, she was the daughter of Clemence Dailey and Emma Belle Wine Dailey. Bernice was a longtime member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness. She loved life, painting, bike riding, and being outside.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin R. Mitchell and son, Richard Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Maple and husband Melvin of Orange; daughter Barbara Sears and husband, Bill of Fairbarn, Oh; son, Phillip Mitchell and wife, Billie of Buna; sister Joann Morphis of Charleston, W.V. and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
Serving as pallbearers will be Melvin Maple, Jr., Roy Maple, Malcolm Maple, Jeremy Mitchell and Phillip Lee Mitchell, Jr. and Keith Murray.
