James “Jimmy” Thompson, 70, of Starks, passed away April 17, at Baptist Hospital in Orange.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Mr. Larry W. Teeter. Burial of his cremated remains will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Worcester, Ma., Dec. 2, 1944, he was the son of James Lester Thompson and Mary Frances Quinn Thompson. Jimmy retired from Citgo in Lake Charles and was a U.S. Army veteran. His hobbies included antique cars, drag racing, antiques, hunting, collecting guns and his dog “Floppy”. He and his wife enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home. Jimmy was a loving husband, father and friend and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Thompson; his wife, Christine Evon Thompson and his sister, Mary Margaret Thompson.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Thompson of Starks; brother, David L. Thompson of Orange; sister, Judith Ann Novak of Orange and several nieces and nephews.
