Orange couple killed in auto/motorcyle crash

On Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 7:35 p.m., the Orange Police Department was dispatched to a major traffic crash in the 1200 block of W. Park Ave. Upon arrival, officers found a 2012 white Dodge 2500 Ram 2500 truck resting on top of a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle and two riders.

The two on the motorcycle were pronounce deceased by Judge Derry Dunn, Justice of the Peace Precinct 2. They were identified as 54 year old Riley Portie and his wife, 50 year old Emily Portie both of Orange.

The driver of the truck has been identified as 29 year old Travis Collins, also from Orange. It is believed that excessive speed and intoxication are factors in this fatality traffic crash. Travis Collins is under arrest and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
