Evelyn Minter

The celebration of life for Mrs. Evelyn Minter, 92, of Orange will be Saturday, May 30, at 11:00 a.m., at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Rites of Christian burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

She died May 21,at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Orange.

A native of Monroe, LA, she resided in Orange since 1959. She retired after more than 27 years of service as a Custodian for the City of West Orange, working at City Hall. A member of Mount Zion, she served as a Sunday School Teacher, was a member of the Ruth Circle, sang in the Senior Choir, and was a Deaconess.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn McClain of LaPorte; brother, Lenard McClain of Cleveland, OH. and one grandson, Michael McClain of Orange.
