Four injured in ATV accident in Bridge City

Four children were injured in a four-wheeler accident off of Ferry Drive in Bridge City Tuesday night.

Bridge City police responded to a call at 9:32 p.m., regarding four juveniles, all under 18 years of age, operating a four-wheeler ATV in the 800 block of Bridgeview St.. According to police, the driver of the vehicle veered off of the right shoulder, and flipped the ATV in the middle of the road.

Three of the vehicle's occupants were taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont for treatment. One was flown by medical helicopter, and two by ambulance. The fourth passenger jumped out of the vehicle shortly before it flipped, and was treated on scene for injuries.

No citations have been issued for the driver and authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
