Day Tripping - Inside T.C. Lindsey General Store

The T.C. Lindsey General Store in Jonesville has been in continuous operation since 1847. It is still very much in operation, they will sell you a cool soft drink, a cup of coffee, meat and bread to make a sandwich and even cut you a wedge of cheese off of a wheel of cheddar cheese. The interior is a cross between a mercantile store and a museum filled with artifacts of East Texas life. There is even the last bale of cotton ginned in the Jonesville Gin, still standing across the road from the store.

A visit to the store is as step back in time. From baby buggies to sun bonnets to old telephones and branding irons. Items of life in Harrison County are displayed and are sure to bring back memories of times you may have spent in stores like that. Don't bother to ask if the can of dehydrated water is for sale---it is not!
