Ambulance company denied permit in Orange

David Ball - For The Record

An ambulance company making application for a permit to provide emergency and non-emergency services in the city of Orange was denied at the regular meeting of the Orange City Council on the morning of October 13.

Representatives with Acute Medical Services LLC were present at the meeting as well as a representative from Acadian Ambulance.

A city ordinance states Acadian Ambulance as the sole provider of ambulance services in the city since 2006. David Frenzel, Orange fire chief who is the liaison between the city and the company, said he had some concerns over Acute's application.
