Jo Ann Comeaux, 74, of Port Acres, died Saturday, Nov. 21. She was born March 3, 1941, in Port Arthur, to Inez and Adrase Delcambre and had been a lifelong resident of the area.
Jo Ann retired from Port Arthur Independent School District as a registrar after 24 years of service. She was an excellent seamstress, Cajun cook and made an excellent chocolate sheet cake. Jo Ann enjoyed Cajun music, dancing fishing, and going to the beach. Her family was very important to her.
Survivors include her daughter, Denise Parsons and her husband, Tommy, of Galveston; son, Gene Dale Comeaux, of Austin; grandchildren, Cory Parsons and his wife, Leah, of Mauriceville and Marian Cannell, of Austin; great-granddaughter, Audrey Mae Parsons and sister, Margie Nance, of Lumberton.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Wilford “Wimp” Comeaux; brother, Dudley Delcambre and sister, Verdie Poche.
A graveside service for Mrs. Comeaux will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 N. 12th St., Nederland, with her entombment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mrs. Comeaux’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
