BC Chamber names Wheeler Orangefield's student of the month

The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce has named Krista Wheeler the student of the month for December. She received gift certificates and gifts from several local merchants. Krista is the daughter of Kevin and Holly Wheeler and has a GPA of 3.98 and is ranked number 28 out of a class of 121.

Krista’s awards and honors include:

BRAVO Award for a commissioned art piece, Southeast Texas State Fair Art Contest Winner 2013-2014, Rotary Club Award winner, Outstanding Leadership Award- Friends of Rachel Club, A Honor Roll, Three Years Perfect Attendance and Several “BIG O” Awards from Orangefield High School Staff.

Krista’s clubs and organizations include: Friends of Rachel- President 2015-2016, Art Club – President 2016, Parliamentarian 2015, Treasure 2014, Spirit Club member 2016, Varsity Track and Power lifting team.

In community service, Krista has volunteered at Bridge City/Orangefield Ministerial Alliance and for several National Honor Society benefits such as clothing drives, food drives, etc.

After graduation, Krista will attend college to become a physical therapist.
