NWS expects warm Christmas

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting cool and dry weather Friday and Saturday. A warming trend begins on Sunday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected next week, with one to three inches of rain possible. Strong to severe storms could occur on Tuesday. Also, minor coastal flooding will be watched for due to strong onshore flow Monday through Wednesday.

Temperatures will be significantly warmer than normal next week.
