Closings announced ahead of Christmas and New Year's Day

With the approaching Christmas and New Year's Day holidays, the majority of city, state and federal locations will be closed in observance of those days.

All non-essential offices in the cities of Orange, West Orange, Bridge City and Pinehurst will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25, as well as Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 in observance of the Christmas and New Year's holidays, respectively. West Orange will also be closed on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31.

Non-essential offices in Orange County, as well as state and federal offices will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day as well.

Financial institutions such as First Financial, BBVA Compass, Sabine Federal Credit Union, MCT Credit Union and others will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Those with Waste Management garbage service will have trash collection on Saturday, Dec. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016.

With a busy holiday delivery season coming to a close, the United States Postal Service will not deliver mail on Christmas day nor New Year's Day.

The offices of The Record newspapers will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day and reopen at 8 a.m., the following business day as normal.
