Flash flood watch, high winds continue; drying trend commences this weekend

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles continues a flash flood watch for the entire forecast area of southeast Texas, southwest, south central, and central Louisiana. Two to three inches of rain is possible in parts of southeast Texas and western and central Louisiana Thursday. By Friday the highest rain totals of one to two inches will be seen in south central Louisiana. A drying trend will commence this weekend.

There will continue to be a small threat for isolated tornadoes through Thursday.

Strong southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph will continue into Thursday. The highest winds will be seen along and south of the I-10 corridor of southeast Texas and southwest and south central Louisiana. Gusts will occasionally be in the 30 to 40 mph range.

Along the coast, tides will continue to run above normal. Minor coastal flooding is possible Thursday morning during high tides.
