No Need to Let “To Do” Lists Interfere with Summer Fun
Whether you are preparing for a vacation or just taking care of routine errands, Texas.gov is a great resource to help make your summertime plans a breeze.
The state’s official website offers a gateway to plenty of helpful information about Texas and access to more than 1,000 simple, convenient, and secure online services.
Here are just a few ways you can take advantage of what Texas.gov has to offer:
Head to Texas.gov/Driver to renew your driver license and, following a successful inspection, you can renew your vehicle registration online as well.
You can also make a camping reservation at one of the state’s 50 plus parks.
And if fishing is on the itinerary, get your license here.
If your student needs a birth certificate for school registration purposes, you can order one from the state’s online vital records application.
Consumer Alert: In order to safely take care of your government business online, beware of unofficial, look-alike websites operated by private organizations that may charge unnecessary fees for services or information.
Instead, make sure you are using the state’s official website, http://www.texas.gov, or an official state agency website to complete your online transaction.
To access an official website, enter the URL in the address bar at the top of your Internet browser (e.g.
Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) instead of entering the address in a search engine bar (e.g.
Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.).
Also, look for the .gov or .state.tx.us extension which will be present in the URLs of all official Texas state government websites.
