William R. Delacerda, 70, of Vidor died Friday, Aug. 12, at his residence. A native of Beaumont, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor.
William retired from Beaumont Fire Extinguisher Sales and Service after 40 years. He served his country in the US Navy on the USS Vulcan Norva (AR-5) during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and was just an all around outdoorsman. He also liked to bowl with his wife.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, Aug. 18, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Elleween Delacerda and sisters Frannie Herbert and Betty Goodeaux.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Ginny Delacerda of Vidor; son Mike Delacerda and his wife Tonya of Ft.
Worth; daughter Sonya Delacerda Norris of Vidor; step-daughters Tamara Curry and her husband Mike of Brookland and Cindy Merriman and Anna Walker and her husband Justin, all of Vidor; brothers Carl Ray (Bubby) Delacerda of Colmesneil, Roger Dale Delacerda of Vidor, David Earl Delacerda of Silsbee, Ricky Lynn Delacerda of Beaumont; sister Patsy Spillman of Dry Prong, LA.; grandchildren Michael, Darrin and Derek Norris, Darla, Dawn, Danielle and Danette Delacerda, Christina George, Tiffany Carnahan, Taylor Walker and Jorden Merriman; great grandchildren Aiden Wilson, Audree and Chantz Norris, Jaycee Carnahan, Kyler Guller and one on the way, numerous nieces and nephews.
