The filing period to be considered for the November ballot for a local school district will end this coming Monday.

The filing deadline to submit an application for a place on the ballot for Nov. 8 election for the Orangefield Independent School District is at 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 22.

Four seats on the Board of Trustees for the Orangefield Independent School District are expiring. Those seats are currently held by Van "Bo" Henley, Dr. Ronald Risinger, Brad Frye and Jesse Fremont. All four incumbents have filed applications to retain their seats on the school board. As of Monday, Aug. 15, no other applications have been filed for a place on the ballot.

Since the Orangefield Independent School District is not part of an incorporated city, it is required to hold its election in conjunction with the county every two years during the month of November.

The term for a position as a member on the Orangefield ISD Board of Trustees is for four years.
