During the Christmas holiday, students in Community Christian School’s Honors Physics class used physics principles learned this semester to design and build their own trebuchets.
With only a few restrictions involving the swing arm size and release mechanism, students created their own unique designs which varied in size and shape.
After the holiday break, the physics students enjoyed demonstrating theirtrebuchets for other CCS classes on the football field.
A friendly trebuchet competition was held to judge the distance and accuracy of launching a racquetball plus other objects selected by the students such as a tennis ball, a billiard ball, and a golf ball.
