A band that helped define a decade is making its first ever appearance in Southeast Texas this spring.
English rock outfit The Cult will perform at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 20, inside the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Tickets for the all ages concert at $35-$70 each and go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, March 10, at all Ticketmaster outlets, including HEB Plus on Dowlen Road in Beaumont and the Beaumont Civic Center box office. The British rock group, which formed in 1983 and still features original members Ian Astbury, vocals, and Billy Duffy, guitar, released its 10th studio album, “Hidden City,” in February of 2016.
The Cult is best known for its albums such as “Love,” “Electric” and “Sonic Temple,” and hit songs such as “Love Removal Machine,” “Wild Flower,” “Lil’ Devil,” “Rain,” “She Sells Sanctuary,” “Fire Woman,” “Edie (Ciao Baby”,” and “Wild Hearted Son,” among others.
