James Rowe, 70, of Bridge City, passed away on March 31, 2017.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Father Steve Leger. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00p.m.at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Brownwood, Texas, on September 18, 1946, he was the son of Oscar W. Rowe and Alace (Hoover) Rowe. James was a 1965 graduate of Bridge City High School. He was a great supporter of the Houston Texans and Lamar University Cardinals. James was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 3406, both in Bridge City. James honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy for seven years, he was a Vietnam veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW. James loved his family and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Sheryl Rowe; his sister, Jean Goodwin; and his brother, Michael Rowe.
He is survived by his beloved canine companion, Jeanie; nieces and nephews, Amanda Rowe of Nacogdoches, Laurie Maxfield and her husband, Ricky of Bridge City, Michael Rowe and his wife, Jennifer of Bridge City, Mark Goodwin and his wife, Clea of Graham, Angelique Trudeau and her husband, Grant of Oklahoma; his great nieces and nephews, Maddy Rowe, Bailey Rowe, Alace Maxfield, Bailey Clay, Walter Trudeau, Collete Trudeau, and Tyler Clay; his sister, Sharon Belk and her husband, Richard of Bridge City; sister-in-law, Martha Rowe of Bridge City; and he is survived by his brother-in-law, Steve Goodwin of Graham.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Rowe, Ricky Maxfield, Jason Ashworth, Bobby Ashworth, Steve Goodwin, Clint Lloyd and Tim Barfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Henry Catholic Church, 475 W. Roundbunch Rd., Bridge City, Texas 77611.
