BRIDGE CITY HIGH SCHOOL APRIL STUDENT OF THE MONTH

The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the April Student of the Month for Bridge City High School is Luc Hollier. Luc was presented his certificate and gift bag by Ambassador Dave Derosier owner of OhainWEB.com, at the May Networking Coffee hosted by Las Rosas Mexican Restaurant. He received gift certificates and gifts from: The Classy Peacock, COS Printing, Wellspring Credit Union, Tiger Rock Martial Arts of Bridge City, Sabine Federal Credit Union, Sabine River Ford, Complete Staffing, Neches Federal Credit Union, Bridge City Bank, Bridge City Walmart, Best Day Spa, Five Point Credit Union, MCT Credit Union, and Las Rosas Mexican Restaurant.

Luc is the son of Karl and Rita Hollier. He is ranked #39 of 197 with a GPA 4.04. Luc’s Awards and Honors include:

  • National Honor Society – 2015-18
  • Academic All State Baseball – 2017-18
  • All District Honorable Mention Baseball – 2016-17

Luc’s Clubs and Organizations include:

  • Varsity Baseball
  • Student Council
  • Hunting and Fishing
  • Conservation

In community service, Luc has volunteered at an Assisted Living Facility and Hurricane Harvey clean up.

Chad Landry, Head Baseball Coach, said, “It has been my honor as Head Baseball Coach to have Luc be a part of our program for the last 4 years. Luc is one of our hardest workers and gets the most out of his talents. I have the utmost respect for the way Luc handles himself on the field and in the classroom. He never gets too high or too low, has a calmness that is needed during our games. Luc is just a great kid that everyone respects and likes to be around. He is a true class act.”

Erica Richard, Math Department Chair, said, “Congratulations Luc Hollier for being chosen Athletics Student of the Month. I have had the privilege of teaching Luc during his sophomore year in Pre AP-Algebra 2 and this year in College Algebra. He is an outstanding young man in the classroom and outside of the classroom. He always displays great character and is definitely a true leader.”

Cathy Riley, English Department Chair and Director of Bridge City Strutters, said, “LUC HOLLIER possesses a suave demeanor and is absolutely a gentleman – an outstanding role model for others to emulate. One might notice LUC playing left field with the Cardinal baseball team, leading the student body as a student council member, or exhibiting his humorous personality. When I think of LUC HOLLIER, I think of responsibility, self-discipline, determination, and diligence. From a Bridge City Cardinal to a Stephen F. Austin State University Lumberjack, I know LUC will do well. Congratulations, LUC HOLLIER.”

When asked about his future, Luc said, “I plan to attend Stephen F. Austin State University for undergrad studies and then onto Pharmacy School, return to the area, work for a family owned or retail pharmacy, and then own my own pharmacy one day.”
