Strutters National Champions again

The award winning Bridge City High School Strutters competed at the American Dance National/International Dance Contest located at the University of North Texas recently. The team earned National Champions in their team division. The last time they earned this distinction was in 2011.

The Strutters also won National Champion awards in all four dances which include modern, novelty, prop, and pom. They earned National Academic Champions for having the highest grade point average. The team dancers are Macie Moore, Jaelyn Nichols, Carlee Weeks, Sydney Hanson, Madison Juneau, Natalye Allen, Jaci Monceaux, Haley Spikes, Macy Mouton, Brenna Swanton, Natalie Varney, Paige Rogers, and Kathryn Wooley.

The Strutter officers earned National Champions in their officer division as well. The high school dance and drill team officers competed in three categories which included contemporary, novelty, and open and won National Champion awards in all three. The officer dancers are Macie Moore, Jaelyn Nichols, Madison Juneau, and Natalye Allen.

Macie Moore and Natalye Allen earned National High Kick Company. Kathryn Wooley earned JV National High Kick Company. These students qualified at summer camp when they received All American Kick Company. Macie Moore and Jaelyn Nichols won National Champions in their duet performance, and Moore also placed 3rd as a National Champion Solo Finalist. The Strutters Director is Cathy Riley.
