Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
My name is Mark Anderson, and I am seeking re-election to the Bridge City
Independent School District Board of Trustees Place 7. I am the President of Anderson
Surveying and Mapping; a family-owned Bridge City business my father and I started in
1979.I have been honored to work for and serve my hometown of Bridge City for over
four decades. My service to the City began in the early '90s when I was elected to serve
on City Council. Since then, I have dedicated my life to serving the citizens of Bridge City.
In 2005, I was elected to serve as your BCISD Trustee for Place 7. The last fifteen years
have been the most rewarding, challenging, and enjoyable years. I have worked hard
every day to ensure the students of BCISD are put first in every decision I make as your
BCISD Trustee. During the last fifteen years, the district has overcome many challenges,
including numerous hurricanes and a pandemic. BCISD has maintained its commitment
to provide the best educational experience to our students and to create a working
environment that fosters cooperation and rewards excellence for our faculty, staff, and
administration throughout the challenging times we have faced. If re-elected as your
BCISD Board of Trustee for Place 7, I will continue to fight to make BC schools the best in
Texas!
My service to our beloved City continues in other positions I currently hold. I am
also honored to serve as a member of the Wellspring Community Federal Credit Union
Board, a member of the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce, the National Society of
Professional Land Surveyors, and Leadership of Southeast Texas Alumni. I am an active
member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City, where I currently serve on
the Staff-Parish Relations Committee. In 2019/2020, I was selected to attend Leadership
TASB; a unique board development program designed to take experienced board
members to a new level of service and leadership by exposing them to a variety of
issues, people, activities, and locations during a year-long program. Successful
completion of the program earns a designation of Master Trustee, which I have proudly
earned.
I am a 1977 graduate of Bridge City High School and have always called Bridge
City my home. My wife, Kelli, and I have four children, Chelsea, Karli, Erin, and Lauren. We
also have two grandchildren, Andi Kate and Hayes. I would be honored to continue to
serve as your BCISD Place 7 Trustee. Absentee voting is Tuesday, October 13 thru
Friday, October 30, and the general election is on Tuesday, November 3. Vote for Mark
Anderson, number one on the ballot, with a proven record of service to his community.
