Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
KAZ’S FEARLESS FORECAST
Games This Week
WEST ORANGE-STARK over LIBERTY—The Mustangs are well on their way down the road to another district championship, but must be wary of those media hacks who count their chickens before they hatch. The Panthers definitely will not be congenial hosts Friday night when the Mustangs arrive and will do everything possible to make their three-hour stay as unpleasant as possible.
LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE over LUMBERTON—Hopefully this is the week the Battlin’ Bears jump into the victory column. But it won’t come easy and it will be classified as an upset. LC-M needs to play four quarters of solid football to make me look good like the Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants did for me on Sunday.
BRIDGE CITY over ORANGEFIELD—This is a tremendous rivalry involving two teams who were soundly defeated last week and are really mad!! The winner will be presented the Buzzy Gunn Memorial Award which will be presented to the team that makes the fewest mistakes.
VIDOR over LIVINGSTON—The Pirates are coming off a solid victory over cross-county rival LCM and would love to close out this strange season with three wins. But they can’t be looking ahead to next week’s clash with state-ranked Huffman before taking care of business at Livingston Friday night.
DEWEYVILLE over EVADALE—The Pirates also have a chance of finishing the year with a string of victories. After all, the Pirates shellacked Hull-Daisetta two weeks ago which defeated the Rebels last week. Too bad it doesn’t work that way. It will take another stellar performance by the Pirates to win Friday night.
