Hometown News For Orange County, Texas
Games This Week
LIVINGSTON over LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE—The Battlin’ Bears posted their first victory last week 14-13 when Lumberton failed on a two-point conversion to win and must know that this week’s foe will be a tougher task plus the game being on the road. Hopefully the Bears can build on that win and upset the Lions Friday night.
LIBERTY over BRIDGE CITY—The Redbirds got soundly blanked by rival Orangefield in the Bayou Bowl last week and will face an angry bunch of Panthers this week who were strummed by the West Orange-Stark Mustangs. An upset victory will give the Cards at least an outside shot at a playoff berth.
ORANGEFIELD over HAMSHIRE-FANNETT—The Bobcats rebounded nicely from the defeat the West Orange Stark Mustangs handed them the week before. The Longhorns have yet to win a district game and desperately need to get off the “schneide” and post a victory. The ‘Cats need to pick up where they left off last week by blanking Bridge City 22-0 and earning the Buzzie Gunn Bayou Bowl trophy.
HUFFMAN over VIDOR—The Pirates have been coming up a bit short in most of their losses and are probably playing the toughest team on their 2020 schedule Friday night. An upset victory is just what the doctor ordered to help the Pirates get into the state playoffs.
DEWEYVILLE over BURKEVILLE—The Pirates are on a roll, looking great in last week’s victory over Evadale in the annual River Bowl and should continue to thrive this week against the Burkeville Pirates.
