Area High School Playoff Games This Week

WEST ORANGE-STARK (8-0) over CHINA SPRING (8-2) 7:30 p.m. Friday at Magnolia’s Bulldog Stadium—The Mustangs took it to fourth-seeded Sweeny last week and merely overpowered them. Although this week’s opponent is a third seed in its apparently strong district, the Cougars had a relatively easy time defeating a good Jasper team 45-19 and should give the ‘Stangs all they can handle.

DEWEYVILLE (8-2) over CHILTON (6-4) 6 p.m. Saturday at Tomball ISD Stadium—The Pirates looked good in their bi-district encounter over Cushing for their first playoff victory in the school’s history. Hopefully they can post their second playoff win too.
