Linda Lou Nichols, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 17, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Orange. Born in Orange, Texas, on June 25, 1947, she was the daughter of Charles Mitchell Sweezy and Agnes (Tompkins) Sweezy. Linda was a graduate of Little Cypress High School in 1965. She went on to work at DuPont Sabine River Works for many years. Linda was a charismatic and memorable woman who never met a stranger. She once kept an entire airplane entertained with her stories throughout the flight. Linda drew others to her, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel special and comfortable. She had a love for people that was evident through her many friends and family. Linda could often be found spending time with her loved ones or talking on the phone. Her family was her pride and joy, and she always made sure her children and grandchildren were taken care of. Linda will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Agnes Sweezy, and her sister, Jane Sweezy Loftin. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Nichols of Orange; her children, Michelle Tubbleville and husband Kyle of Orange, Stacey Nichols of Orange, and Randall Nichols and wife Natalie of Spring Branch; her grandchildren, Elijah Goolsby, William Tubbleville, Lexi Tubbleville, Konner Tubbleville, and Cooper Allan Nichols, her newest grandson, expected to arrive any day; her siblings, Brenda Sweezy Rogde and husband Jake, and Mitchell Kent Sweezy; her nieces, Lakyn Loftin Houston and Jennifer Sweezy; and her nephews, Bill Rogde, David Rogde, and Ryan Sweezy. Linda was always passionate about looking for ways to help others. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Linda’s name.
